Shortie's Candle Company was established in early 2002 by people who truly love scented candles. Our first candles were made in a small kitchen in small batches and our labeling was printed on a color laser printer and punched and cut out by hand. We spent the first 5 months in business testing and blending waxes to allow our candles to hold more scent than any other candle available. Our first public representation was in the summer of 2002 at a local farmers market in Reno, Nevada. The first response from our customers was an undeniable success. Having completed our testing and confirming the appeal of our products, we had clean new transparent labeling designed and professionally printed to show off the candle colors. Then we hired a small staff, launched our website, and continued to promote our products at home / trade shows and our original summer farmers market. In the summer of 2005 we moved into our new facility built for us from the ground up, including new production equipment and a ton more product storage.
